Re-elect Joe Thompson for California Democratic Party Assembly District Elections
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Fellow Democrats,
Thank you for electing me to represent your interests at the California Democratic Party. These last two years, I have had the pleasure of attending two conventions in Los Angeles and Sacramento, where I advocated for progressive policies and democrats to earn the endorsement of the California Democratic Party.
I’m a recent graduate at UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in politics. I am currently applying for local law schools so I can continue my education while still living in this beautiful community, that I have the pleasure to call home.
I currently serve as the Political Director for the Monterey/Santa Cruz Building & Construction Trades Council. I am known in this community as the Starbucks Union Guy. I organized and led the first Starbucks store in California to file for a union election and win. I will always fight for unions and workers in all the work that I do, and I want to continue expanding on that work.
I was elected to serve on the Santa Cruz County Democratic Party Central Committee where I help manage social media and youth engagement.
I bring a unique perspective that is needed in the Democratic party and our politics. I’m a union organizer, a UCSC Graduate, LGBTQ+ community activist. I plan to push and advocate for all marginalized communities.

Gracias por elegirme para representar sus intereses en el Partido Demócrata de California. Estos últimos dos años, he tenido el placer de asistir a dos convenciones en Los Ángeles y Sacramento, donde abogué por políticas progresistas y demócratas para obtener el respaldo del Partido Demócrata de California.
Soy un recién graduado de UC Santa Cruz con un B.A. en política. Actualmente estoy solicitando ingreso a facultades de derecho locales para poder continuar mi educación mientras sigo viviendo en esta hermosa comunidad, a la que tengo el placer de llamar hogar.
Actualmente me desempeño como Director Político del Consejo de Oficios de la Construcción de Monterey/Santa Cruz. En esta comunidad me conocen como el chico del sindicato de Starbucks. Organicé y dirigí la primera tienda Starbucks en California que se presentó a una elección sindical y ganó. Siempre lucharé por los sindicatos y los trabajadores en todo el trabajo que hago, y quiero seguir ampliando ese trabajo.
Fui elegido para formar parte del Comité Central del Partido Demócrata del condado de Santa Cruz, donde ayudo a gestionar las redes sociales y la participación de los jóvenes.
Aporto una perspectiva única que se necesita en el Partido Demócrata y nuestra política. Soy organizador sindical, graduado de UCSC y activista comunitario LGBTQ+. Planeo impulsar y defender a todas las comunidades marginadas.
